Kelly Marcades made music a part of her life since she was a child.   Raised in a large musical family, singing became much more than a casual activity; it became the artistic avenue through which she expressed her deepest convictions and emotions.  Consequently, when it was time to attend college, no one was surprised by her decision to major in music.   She attended The Bible College of Florida and later, Southeast Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. 

During her undergraduate and graduate studies, Kelly was active in a variety of musical venues.  Early stage appearances included playing the role of Barbara Allen in Richardson and Berney’s Dark of the Moon and Amahl in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors.  By invitation of the U. S. Army Chaplaincy, Kelly performed in Stuttgard and Schweinfurth, Germany.  Additionally, back in the states, she appeared frequently as guest soloist for landmark choral work performances such as G. F. Handel’s Messiah and Robert Levin’s edition of W. A. Mozart’s Requiem.  Most recently, she played Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music at the Harlingen Performing Arts Theater in Harlingen, TX. 

However, Kelly’s varied musical taste always reached beyond the historical to pop favorites from the 30’s to the present, particularly music of a gentler romantic nature.  HeartSongs, her first CD, was planned as a reminiscent journey into that past; including classic popular favorites such as Gounod’s Ave Maria, Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro, sacred favorites like Malotte’s The Lord’s Prayer, and several pop standard favorites, including, Ebb Tide, Lazy River, and Be My Love. 

Currently, she teaches secondary music at Gateway College Preparatory School in Georgetown, Texas and serves as Chief Financial Officer/Market Director of PENIEL UNLIMITED, LLC.  Additionally, she serves as co-host of 3N1, a podcast that probes various aspects subjects related to God, Politics and Music.  Together, she and her husband Michael have 7 children and 5 grandchildren and 3 spoiled dogs.
